Reference: British Commonwealth Bayonets pg 41 table
Very rare model. The carbine bayonets of this era are a bit confusing with information in the texts being a bit contradictory. The class is easily identifiable with their full length 4 inch sockets and carbine bore. This one most closely matches up with the dimensions given for the P1770 Light Infantry Carbine. Socket length is 4 1/8 inches- Sight to Muzzle Distance is 2 1/8 inches- Blade is 16.5 inches- Bore is a bit out of round but about a bit under 22 mm. The bayonet has the very wide blade of the 1750s models though. You can just make out where the inspection stamp and maker stamp are located on the ricasso but cannot read them. Stablized corrosion overall with one small hole in the socket.
