Saber bayonet for a Belgian copy of the French 1842 rifle- no scabbard. The blade is German made by Samuel Hoppe and marked with their bee hive. The bayonet assembled by Joseph LeMille in Liege and his marked with his JL in a cartouch on the opposite ricasso. Very likely a US Civil War import. 22.6 mm MRD. Blade tip rounded.
