A very scarce US socket bayonet. Similar to a US M1835 but without a locking ring. US marking to ricasso. Three step slot for under barrel stud. MRD 21.3 mm. There is a slight dent in the socket just behind the slot. Also the mortise bridge is bent slightly. Untouched patina with some light pitting.
