French used Egyptian pattern Remington bayonet w/s.

This would have been one of the foreign contracts during the Franco-Prussian war. It is serial numbered in the slot. Unknown maker mark P*S in an oval. Christian Mery shows this mark in his Chassepot book. In the reference the P*S mark is paired with RMF on the guard and the same style of serial number but on the guard. This is a very nice example.
