Reference: Renoux- Les Baionnettes A Douille Pg 151
Calamandrei- Baionette Italiane Pg 60
Nice markings on ricasso and shank. Started off life as either an AN IX Musketoon or a regular AN IX. The blade shortened to 375 mm so it could originally been either AN IX model. Locking ring works well. The muzzle end of the socket is bent by the rim. This would need to be repaired to fit the mustket. The Piedmont forces were armed with a variety of French arms that were abandoned when the Empire pulled back. The scabbard is missing just the tip but has an Italian style frog stud rather than the French arrangement.
